How to Start Your Career at Wayne Memorial Hospital

All applications are submitted through our online portal, where they’ll be reviewed by a member of the Human Resources team.  If you have any questions about a job posting, you can contact the Human Resources department at 570-251-6539. Once reviewed by a Human Resources Generalist, qualified candidates will be contacted for an initial discussion and may be invited to interview for the position.

Pre-Employment Process

Once the position is offered and accepted, the candidate is scheduled to complete the onboarding requirements:

  • Clearances; FBI Fingerprints, Criminal Background Check, and Child Abuse Clearances
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen/ Health Screen with our Employee Health Nurse
  • Paperwork (on-line)

Job Shadowing at Wayne Memorial Hospital offers a valuable opportunity to explore a variety of different roles in the medical field, allowing you to gain real-world insight into the day-to-day for your desired career path.

Important Information:

Job shadowing opportunities are subject to availability. Certain high demand departments – such as specialized clinical areas- may require additional qualifications, prerequisites, or approval prior to participation. All applicants may be required to complete several onboarding steps which include an application process, background clearances, confidentiality agreements and necessary health screening prior to starting their job shadow experience.

Nursing and Nursing Support

Recently graduated RN’s & LPN’s We proudly support newly graduated nurses as they begin their professional journey.  Each June, we offer an extensive Nurse Internship Program for all new RN’s and LPN’s.

This program is thoughtfully designed to provide the knowledge, hands on experience and confidence needed to successfully transition into your nursing career.  Through structured training and dedicated support, we ensure you are fully prepared for your chosen career path.

Nursing Support Nursing Assistants play a vital role in supporting our nursing team by helping deliver a wide range of patient care services.  In this role, you will assist with direct patient care, daily activities, and essential clerical duties to ensure a smooth and compassionate healthcare experience.

No prior experience or CNA certification is required.  We provide comprehensive on-the-job training to equip you with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in this position.

Many of our team members begin as Nurse Aides and advance to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and eventually to Registered Nurses (RNs).  To support this journey, we offer full tuition reimbursement for employees attending Career Technology Center to become LPNs.
