National Laboratory Week at WMH

(Honesdale, PA, April 23, 2026) April 19th – 25th is Medical Laboratory Professionals Week!  Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH) is celebrating the contributions of its Laboratory Professionals and recognizing the precision, skill, and purpose they bring to patient care every day. This year’s theme is “Lab Story: To Infinity and Beyond for Our Patients.” 

Medical Director of WMH Anatomic and Clinical Laboratories Dr. Sibyl Rickard expressed the highest appreciation for the staff and their significant role in patients’ outcomes.

“We recognize the incredible work of our laboratory team. Behind nearly every diagnosis, treatment decision, and hospital stay is the careful work of highly skilled laboratory professionals,” she stated while explaining that staff performs complex testing, ensures accuracy, and maintains quality and safety standards.

“To our medical laboratory scientists, medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and all support staff: Thank you for your dedication and commitment to excellence,” added Dr. Rickard. She also invited the community to join WMH in celebrating these essential healthcare professionals, during this week.
