April is Occupational Therapy Month, and Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH) recognizes the important role occupational therapists play in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. Occupational therapy focuses on helping people participate in the everyday activities that matter most, whether that is getting dressed, returning to work, or safely navigating life after an illness or injury.
At WMH, our occupational therapy team is a vital part of patient care for both inpatients and outpatients. They work closely with patients helping them recover strength, adapt to new challenges, and build confidence as they heal. Their compassionate, hands-on approach makes a meaningful difference in the recovery journey for so many in our community.
“Occupational therapy is all about helping people get back to living their lives,” said Kristen Ost, MSOTR/L. “Whether it’s something as simple as buttoning a shirt or as big as returning home safely, we are here to support our patients every step of the way.”
We are grateful for our occupational therapy team and the care, dedication, and expertise they bring to Wayne Memorial Hospital! Their work truly helps our patients move forward with strength and independence.
