People Helping Each Other

Wayne Memorial sponsors a diabetes support group and also provides space and administrative help for other support groups, such as Compassionate Friends, a support group for those who have lost children. All groups meet at WMH unless otherwise noted.

Compassionate Friends is headed by Sandy Worobey and usually meets on 3rd Wednesdays of the month. (570) 727-2839

Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Group – A support group for adult survivors of suicide loss in Wayne and Pike Counties. Usually meets the 4th Thursday of each month from 7pm – 8:30pm. Michelle Valinski (570) 253-9200

Stroke Support Group – Open to individuals, families, caregivers. Meets (most)  2nd Thursdays of every month at 4pm. (570) 253-8731. A second stroke support group meets (most) 3rd Tuesday at 1PM.

The Parkinson Disease Support Group – will bring an understanding of the disease process, the medications, services and resources available.  Usually meets 1st Thursday of the month, 6:30pm. (570) 253-8731

ALANON – Tuesdays, 7pm-8pm. (570) 253-8990

Pike Co. Tick-Borne Disease Support Group – 4th Monday of month at Pike County Medical Center, Rte 739, Lords Valley. Ellen Scarisbrick (570) 775-4278
