WMH Auxiliary Check Presentation

(Honesdale, June 3, 2025)… Volunteer work for the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (WMHA) has been quite prosperous again this year. A check for $150,000 was presented to the Wayne Memorial Health System, at the annual volunteer luncheon Thursday May 29th at the Central House in Beach Lake. The funds are being donated to the System’s skilled nursing facility, Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. This generous donation will be used to upgrade and enhance the facility.

“This donation represents thousands of hours of time and dedication by many volunteers”, said Hospital CEO James Pettinato, BSN, MHSA, CCRN-K. “I appreciate all that you do. Not only for the funds that will have a big impact on a very deserving population at Wayne Woodlands Manor, but also your kindness and time devoted to our patients. We are so thankful”

The Auxiliary, with about 200 members, raises funds through its thrift stores The Other Shops One and Two in Honesdale and Hawley, the Gift Box in the hospital and through events such as Purse Bingo, tribute concerts, and many other fundraisers.
