National Quilting Day Presentation at WMH

(Honesdale, PA, March 24, 2026)…Saturday March 21st was National Quilting Day and included a little celebration at Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH). Adorable little Aria Rouzier-McLaughin was born at WMH’s New Beginnings Birthing Suites, the first baby born at the hospital on the date that annually commemorates the rich tradition of quilting across America.

Locally, the Wayne Highlands Quilt Guild presents the first baby born at WMH on or closest to the day with a handmade quilt. The family from Forest City, little Aria along with her parents Elizabeth and Kyle, received a lovely quilt with a wildflower motif celebrating the occasion. It was presented by Guild representative Sherry Milliken who was so pleased to hear, “the theme of Aria’s bedroom is wildflowers.”
