WMCHC Offices to Delay Opening Monday Due to Storm

(Honesdale, January 14, 2022)…In view of a forecast for high winds and heavy snow on Monday, January 17th, Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers physician/provider officers will not open until, at the earliest, 10am. Patients with earlier appointments or who wish to cancel morning appointments should call after 10am to reschedule, possibly for later that afternoon.

“We feel this is in the best interests of our staff and our patients,” said WMCHC Executive Director Frederick Jackson. “Historically, we do not close based on forecasts, but we believe safety comes first. In addition, we should be able to accommodate all of our patients at a later time.”

Jackson noted that if the weather is extremely icy and dangerous and full-day closures are warranted at some of WMCHC’s offices, that decision will be made either over the weekend or early Monday morning.

WMCHC offices include the Carbondale Family Health Center (FHC), Honesdale FHC, Highland Family Physicians, Honesdale Pediatrics, Honesdale Behavioral Health, Honesdale Surgery/Nephrology, the Honesdale VA clinic, the Women’s Health Center in Honesdale and Dingman’s Ferry, Hamlin FHC, Waymart FHC, Pinnacle FHC in Tafton, Northern Wayne FHC in Lake Como, Forest City FHC and Pike FHC in Lords Valley. The delay will also affect Lake Region Urgent Care in Honesdale, Sterling Pediatrics and dental centers in Honesdale and Lords Valley.  For a complete list of locations and hours, visit www.wmchc.net.
