Project SEARCH Reverse Job Fair!

Project SEARCH is a high school transition program that partners with Wayne Memorial Hospital to support young adults with special needs as they explore career paths, gain hands-on work experience, and build the skills needed for competitive employment. Through the program, students complete rotations in several hospital departments, learning workplace expectations while discovering where their interests and strengths shine, both within the hospital and throughout the community.

“This program gives our students confidence, independence, and a sense of purpose,” said Taylor Ellis, Project SEARCH instructor. “They’re learning real job skills, building relationships, and seeing what they’re capable of in a professional setting. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch them grow.”

To showcase their experiences and career interests, Project SEARCH students will host a Reverse Job Fair on Monday, March 4, from 9 to 11 am in the hospital concourse. Unlike a traditional job fair, students will host tables and share information about the types of roles they are interested in, along with the skills they’ve developed through their hospital rotations.

“This event is such an exciting moment for the program and for our students,” said Kathleen Seifried, Wayne Memorial Liaison for Project Search. “It’s a chance for our team members to connect directly with these talented young adults, learn more about their interests, and see firsthand how meaningful this program is.”

Hospital employees, potential employers, and community members are encouraged to stop by, meet the students, and join the conversation. Your time, encouragement, and curiosity help make Project SEARCH a powerful pathway to employment and inclusion.
