Donor Privacy Policy

We Respect You

At Wayne Memorial Health Foundation, we respect your privacy. We believe in safeguarding personal information and have created standards to ensure that donor privacy is protected. The Foundation’s website is intended to provide information related to the purpose, history and activities of the Foundation, including our grants, programs, awards, special events, funding needs and giving opportunities. If, at any time, you choose not to receive these communications, you may contact the Foundation and we will gladly remove your name from our mailing list.

Donor Recognition – We offer periodic recognition to thank our donors for their support. Forms of recognition include publishing donor names in annual reports, the donor and benefactor newsletter (Insight), advertisements in local newspapers, signage on the various campuses of Wayne Memorial Hospital and its affiliates, and at special events. Donors have the right to request that their donation be anonymous and that their name not be used in any of these venues.

Information We Collect – At Wayne Memorial Health Foundation, we collect personally identifiable information, but only information that our users provide to us. When users come to our site, we may collect some non-personally identifiable information that is used to determine the number of visits to different pages on our site, to improve access to our content, based on our user’s browsers and operating system types. This information is not linked to any personal information submitted online when participating in any activities. The Wayne Memorial Health Foundation website does not use the software technology called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that can be placed in user’s computer browsers to store their preferences. Cookies themselves do not contain any personally identifiable information, although cookies could enable us to relate a user’s use of this website to personal information that the user had provided. However, as indicated immediately above, the Foundation does not currently use cookies for any purpose.

Electronic Personal Records – Donor information is maintained in a secured database, and only authorized personnel have access to this information, and only for appropriate Foundation business purposes. We will disclose information we maintain as required by law, for example, in response to a court order or a subpoena. We also disclose such information in response to a specific law enforcement agency’s request.

Mailing List – The Foundation does not rent, sell, give away, or trade its donor lists or any information contained on those lists. Donor information is used by the Foundation for charitable purposes only, as described above, and will not be used to any entity outside of the Foundation.

Security – We have put in place certain physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect online and offline to:

  • Help prevent unauthorized access to such information
  • Maintain security of such information
  • Correctly use such information

However, because of the global nature of the Internet, when you give us information online, that information may be sent electronically to servers outside of the country where you originally entered the information. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. This site does not use security encryption measures. Therefore, information that you disclose by use of this site (as with any site that allows non-encrypted communication), by posting a message or using e-mail, potentially could be collected and used by others. This may result in unsolicited messages from third parties or use of such information by third parties for their own purposes, legal or illegal. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, the Foundation cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us.
