New Pediatrician Added to Staff of Sterling Office

Honesdale, PA (August 17, 2020) —Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) is pleased to announce that pediatrician Apurva Jain, MD, is now providing comprehensive outpatient care to children from birth to age 18 at its Sterling Pediatric Center located in Lake Ariel.

“Being a pediatrician allows me to be an advocate for children, their educator and sometimes a confidant,” said Dr. Jain reflecting on her choice to pursue the medical specialty. “I love to see the joy of parents when they hold their infant, watch their first steps or hear their first words. Being a part of their journey is a gift that I will always be very grateful for.”

According to WMCHC Executive Director Frederick Jackson, Dr. Jain was brought on staff in response to the continued high demand for pediatric healthcare in the region, “this is the continuation of the pediatric services growth initiatives started in 2019 when Pediatric Practices of Northeastern Pennsylvania became part of WMCHC.”

WMCHC’s operates three outpatient pediatric sites–Honesdale Pediatric Center, Waymart Pediatric Center and Sterling Pediatric Center. Each location offers well-and sick-child visits, immunizations, medical evaluation and treatment of chronic conditions as part of a child’s medical home.

Dr. Jain completed her pediatric residency at Texas Tech University of Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, TX. She earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health/Epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, Houston, TX. She is a graduate of Terna Medical College, Navi Mumbai, India.
