Matthew L. Meagher

Matthew (Matt) L. Meagher joined the Wayne Memorial Health Foundation Board of Trustees in January of 2005. Matt is the son of Paul and Sandy Meagher.  Matt represents the second generation of the Meagher family to serve on the Health Foundation Board of Trustees.  His father, Paul, was one of the original Board members when the Foundation was incorporated in 1981.

Matt is a graduate of Honesdale High School and was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1996 from the University of Scranton.

After working insurance industry for a few years, Matt relocated to San Diego, California to attend law school.  While earning his law degree, he met his wife, Carrie, who was an elementary school teacher in the inner city of San Diego.  Carrie grew up in a small New Hampshire town. While enjoying visits to Honesdale with Matt, she developed a fondness for the Wayne County way of life.  After Matt’s graduation from Law School in 2001, they decided that Wayne County was a place where they wanted to rear their family, because of the excellent schools, health care services and the overall high quality of life in a rural area.

Matt presently practices law at the Hamill Law Offices in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.  He also serves as a part-time assistant district attorney.  His other community activities consist of the Honesdale Area Jaycees, the Wayne County Historical Society and the Knights of Columbus.  Carrie is a first grade teacher at the Stourbridge Primary Center.
