Sylvia Kingston Joins Wayne Health Services Board
Wayne Health Services, a subsidiary of the Wayne Memorial Health Foundation, owns and operates the Stourbridge Professional Complex at Maple Avenue and Route 6 in Honesdale, as well as retail store, Wayne Health Pharmacy and Medical Equipment.
Sylvia relocated to northeast Pennsylvania from New York City in 2010 to join Highlights in Honesdale as a Human Resources Business Partner. She has been a senior consultant at several leading search firms, including most recently Morgan Howard/Wellesley & Partners in New York City. Ms. Kingston has more than 15 years of experience in senior human resources roles, including four years as vice president and head of human resources for Sanwa Financial Products. She joined Sanwa after nine years as a specialist in human resources at Salomon Brothers, serving as VP/manager of global compensation and HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
“I’m pleased to join the Wayne Memorial family and particularly the board of Wayne Health Services,” said Kingston. “As a member of this community with many years of experience in business, it is my hope that I can be of service to the retail arm of the Wayne Memorial Health Foundation as it strategizes for the future.”
Robert Suhosky, the chair of Wayne Health Services Board of Trustees, welcomed Ms. Kingston, stating, “I have known Sylvia for many years and respect her business acumen and judgment. It is a pleasure to have her on our board to help us navigate the healthcare landscape for Wayne Health Services.”
Kingston graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Classics from Pomona College of Claremont Colleges, California. She spent a year in the graduate study program of Classical Philology at Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. A resident of Beach Lake, Sylvia is married to the artist Jim Kingston. She is a member and past president of the Honesdale Rotary club and a former volunteer with the Warmth in the Night Shelter at Grace Episcopal Church in Honesdale.
On the board, Sylvia joins Suhosky and fellow members Jerome Casey, DPM; J. Dennis Evans, CPA; William O’Neill; James Chapman; Betty deMaye-Caruth, PhD, RN, CHPT, RM/T; Bob Non and Brendan Murray. G. Richard Garman is the executive director of the Wayne Memorial Health Foundation.
