Pike Behavioral Health Offering Outpatient Therapy
to its staff. With the addition of a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), the Center has increased services to include outpatient therapy for children, adolescents and adults.
Smetana offers individual and family counseling for those affected by stressors such as depression, anxiety, Autism, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, grief, chemical dependency, and personality disorders.
Smetana received both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Social Work from Marywood University. Prior to joining the Pike Behavioral Health Center she was employed as a bereavement counselor at the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice/Joseph T. Quinlan Bereavement Center in Newton, NJ.
She feels her experience counseling individuals through the grieving process has made her well qualified for her new role. “Grief was the major reason clients came in, however, they brought in their other issues, many of which I will be treating in this setting.”
Having lived in the Pike County region for 22 years, Smetana has a great passion for the community. She embraces her new position as an opportunity to “be a supportive presence to neighbors.” She says, “It will be a way of helping others bloom where they have been planted.”
Referrals for outpatient therapy can come from physicians, family members or community resources. Patients may also self-refer. To make an appointment or to learn more about the Pike Behavioral Health located in the Pike Family Health Center, Lords Valley, call 570-775-4081.
