Connecting Community & Healthcare
Wayne Memorial Hospital's Together for Health School Program is a collaboration with Wayne Highlands, Wallenpaupack, Western Wayne, Forest City and other local school districts for 7th and 11th grade students each year. In addition to a live presentation about healthy lifestyles, students fill out Wellness profiles and may choose to have their blood drawn for cholesterol and lipid profiles. A third component of the program involves local agencies, law enforcement and healthcare providers who set up information tables and field questions from students about "real life."
Wallenpaupack Area High School Drama Club participated in Wayne Memorial's Together for Health School Program for 7th graders. They offered a piece on "bullying" and encouraged their audience to find alternatives to unhealthy behavior.Back
