Sal Giglio Joins Wayne Memorial Health Foundation
In this role he will help the Foundation fulfill two of its purposes to develop relationships and raise funds that support and assist Wayne Memorial Health System in its mission of service to the community.
“I have always been an advocate for Wayne Memorial Hospital and what it has accomplished for the community and what it will accomplish going forward. Having joined the staff just a short time ago, I have already been greatly enlightened—there are a lot of terrific things going on here!”
Sal was well known in his last position as the Sales Manager for Owl Chrysler Jeep in Honesdale from1977 through 2008, when the dealership closed. Prior to that, Sal held management positions at Sullivan’s Department Store in Middletown, New York and at Fidesta Corporation in Huntington, New York.
Mr. Giglio has a long history of community involvement. He is currently a board member of the Wayne County Public Library, past president and current board member of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Finance Committee of St. John’s Catholic Parish in Honesdale—to name a few organizations. No stranger to fundraising, Sal serves on the Bonanza Committee for the Lions Club. The “Bonanza” is the club’s largest—and most successful—annual fundraising event, one of the area’s most popular dinner dances.
“Sal was an asset to our Foundation before he joined our staff, and even more so now that he’s with us,” said G. Richard Garman, executive director of the Foundation. “Almost as soon as he came on board, we garnered a large number of new sponsors for our annual golf tournament, The Harry Kiesendahl Memorial held at Woodloch Springs, this year on Monday August 20th. Sal brings a wealth of experience, contacts and goodwill to our organization. We are delighted that he is a member of the Wayne Memorial team.”
Born in New York, Sal attended Adelphia University and moved to Wayne County 38 years ago. He and his wife Judy reside in Beach Lake.
Sal can be reached at his office telephone 570-253-8344.
