Daniel arrived at 1:26pm on Saturday, January 2nd. He weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and stretched 20 inches long. Daniel is the first child for Katherine and Kyle Young of Glen Spey, New York— and they're ecstatic. The baby was due on January 5th, so they were surprised that he turned out to be a first baby of the year. "We'll show him the newspaper clippings when he's older," said dad Kyle. The baby came into the world with the help of Certified Nurse Midwives Sheela Porter-Smith and Pat Konzman from Women’s Health Care. “We were definitely pleased with our experience, and will come back to Wayne Memorial,” said the Youngs. The Hospital showered the “first family” with gifts in a basket. The couple’s hometown paper, the Sullivan County Democrat, along with The Dime Bank, also planned to give the Youngs a few items, including a $50 savings bond that will grow as the baby grows.
