CAPTION: The co-chairs of Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s annual Mistletoe Ball, Jennifer Hoff (right) and Patty Barnes (left), stand outside the newly built Emergency Department to announce the date for this season’s Mistletoe event: Saturday, January 21st, 2006, 6:30pm at Ehrhardt’s on the Waterfront in Tafton. “We’re really excited this year, because it’s the first Mistletoe since the Hospital launched its capital campaign at last year’s ball, and we hope we have terrific news to report on the drive’s progress,” said Hoff. The WMH Auxiliary, at close to 300 members is believed to be one of the strongest and largest of its kind in northeast Pennsylvania. It has already raised $115,000 towards its pledge of $210,000 to the Hospital’s capital campaign, Operation Vital Signs. More than 200 people attended last year’s Mistletoe Ball, despite a rescheduling due to snow. That event raised $16,000, twice the tally of the year before. “And we’re going to do even better this year!” exclaimed an optimistic Patty Barnes, the other Co-Chair of the Mistletoe Ball. The dinner dance traditionally includes a live band, a silent auction and surprise give-aways. For tickets or more information, call Jennifer Hoff at (570) 253-8068.
