( HONESDALE, PA—February 23, 2006)…It takes a lot of hands to run a successful fundraising effort! These Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary members are getting ready to open The Other Shop I in Honesdale for the coming season. From March 1st through November, the consignment and thrift shop takes in and sells clothing, small appliances, jewelry and knick-knacks. The proceeds benefit Wayne Memorial Hospital. “It’s a pleasant surprise when shopping here,” says Sheila Davis, Chair of the Shops Committee. “All items must be clean, clothing must be pressed and ‘in fashion’, appliances must work and magazines have to be current.” No large items such as furniture, computers, TVs or car seats are available but there are always plenty of wonderful bargains. Located at 1036 Main Street, the shop is open 10am to 3pm Tuesday through Friday and 10 to noon on Saturday. If you’re looking to get uncluttered this spring, you can donate items for consignment Saturdays and weekdays between 10am and 1pm either at the Honesdale shop or The Other Shop II in Hawley. The Auxiliary is looking forward to a successful season raising money to meet its pledge to Wayne Memorial’s capital campaign, Operation Vital Signs. The Auxiliary has already raised $115,000 towards its $210,000 goal. For information, call 253-5746.
