(Honesdale, January 3, 2007)…The first patients to use the new Hospitalist Program at Wayne Memorial Hospital had nothing but praise for the program. Joann Hudak was thrilled that Hospitalist physician Dr. Everton Clare was so available. “He’s seen me three times already, and I haven’t been in the hospital 24 hours yet! This program is a great idea.” Hudak, who lives in New Foundland, is the Director of Secondary Education for the Wallenpaupack Area School District. “Dr. Clare really spent time with me, he’s been very attentive.” Hudak is seen here with Dr. Clare and Donna Decker, RN, WMH Community Health. Other patients, including Sara Tiel of Honesdale and Michael Dubois of Pine Mill, echoed Hudak. “This is a good idea,” said Tiel. David Hoff, Chief Executive Officer, visited with Tiel and prompted a smile from her with his quick response— “We think it’s a good idea, too!” Hospitalists are physicians who care for adult patients inside hospitals.
