Readying for a ribbon cutting: Staffers from Pediatric Practices of Northeastern Pennsylvania (PPNE) stand outside the new Waymart Medical Center off South Street in Waymart. Wayne Memorial Health System, which owns the new facility, will hold an official ribbon cutting April 19th. PPNE, the first tenant, relocated its Carbondale office to the new Waymart facility and opened its doors for business April 1st. The rest of the building will house x-ray services, blood draw services and, soon, primary care and specialist physician services. The facility is right next door to Wayne Woodlands Manor, Wayne Memorial’s long-term care home. Wayne Woodlands residents will no longer have to travel for x-rays. And neither will PPNE patients. “This facility offers us a lot more for our patients,” said Jane Eisele, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner with PPNE. “We can send them right next door for x-rays and blood work. We will get the results faster and can offer treatment in less time. It’s great.” Eisele and pediatrician Dr. Robert Morton, along with support staff, say they are already seeing a steady stream of patients. Standing in front of the new building are PPNE’s Janet Eisele, CRNP; Secretary Lori Corazzi; and Medical Assistant Nicole Jahannes.
