"Babies and Books" Donate Books to Babies Born at New Beginnings

Click here for a larger viewClick here for a larger view (HONESDALE PA, June 29, 2007)—“The Very Hungry Caterpillar” will set out on a journey sure to bring hours of pleasure to a new family.  Thanks to “Babies and Books”, a project sponsored by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Reading Association, babies born at Wayne Memorial Hospital’s New Beginnings will be heading home with a new book tucked in their diaper bag. Heather Holmes, and Mary Lou Eimers, RN, are pictured with boxes and baskets of assorted children’s books donated by children and families in our community organized by Anne Mary Doyle. Reading books can help you bond with your baby, help baby become a good listener, is a calming activity and prepares for success in learning. It is never too early to start reading to your children.
