(Honesdale, October 3, 2007)— A three day training course for Wayne Memorial Hospice volunteers is starting October 13th. This call to help individuals and families cope with an end-of-life illness often results in a rewarding and worthwhile experience for all involved..
Even a couple of hours a week can help so much. A volunteer may be asked to run errands, help a patient who has difficulty walking or just spend time with a patient to give their fulltime caregiver a precious few hours off.
The training takes place Saturday, October 13th and 20th from 8:30 AM to 4 PM and Monday, October 22 from 6 to 8 PM at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Pre-registration is required. If you would like to join the Hospice team of medical staff, social workers and clergy call Joyce Malicky at (570) 253-8737.
