(Honesdale, January 28, 2008)… Anesthesiologist David Kaplan, MD, and Radiologist Dalton Daniel, MD didn’t know each other before arriving at Wayne Memorial Hospital at the end of 2007, but both were impressed by what they found.  Dr. Kaplan, who joined the group Honesdale Anesthesia, PC, provided vacation coverage at the Hospital last year and decided he wanted a fulltime position.

      “I was quite impressed with the dedication and kindness afforded to patients by the hospital staff, including not only the doctors and nurses, but people working in all other capacities as well.” 

       Dr. Kaplan, married and the father of two girls, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Temple School of Medicine. He completed his residency at two Massachusetts hospitals, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.  Dr. Kaplan followed up with a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology.  After several appointments in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Delaware, including teaching experience at Jefferson Medical College, Dr. Kaplan last worked as the Director of Anesthesia at a multi-specialty surgery center in Reading. Board-certified in Anesthesiology, he has co-authored numerous articles and presentations, including several on the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.

      In coming to Honesdale, Dr. Kaplan says, “I recognized that I was interested in making a change, professionally, by becoming a member of a small and tightly knit community, where a person could make a meaningful contribution, as apposed to merely being one of many in a much larger medical center.”

      Dalton Daniel, MD, the newest member of the hospital’s Radiology Department, also wanted a change. Born in Barbados, he has spent much of his working life as a radiologist in New York City and Long Island.  He graduated from Hahnemann University School of Medi
