(Honesdale, August 28, 2008)…If you’re in need of physical, occupational or speech therapy and, while you’re at it, a few groceries, a little banking and a good restaurant, Wayne Memorial wants you to consider its new Outpatient Services site at the Route 6 Mall in Honesdale. Sandwiched between Kmart and an Italian deli straight out of the Bronx’  “Little Italy,” the new Wayne Memorial Route 6 site is close to more than 100 businesses.

      Convenience, though, is only the icing on the cake. Wayne Memorial Rehabilitation Services (WMRS) offers professional experienced staff and new equipment. In the last six months, WMRS has added 10 therapists or therapy assistants to bring its total staff, including support personnel, to 50—possibly the largest rehab staff in Wayne and Pike Counties.

       “We are really committed to serving everyone in our community with high-quality effective rehabilitation care in a kind and compassionate setting,” says Terri Henderson, MHA, OT/WMRS Manager. “Wayne Memorial has not only hired new staff but opened new sites and invested in 21st-century equipment.”

      “The new Route 6 site is excellent,” say Shannon Campion, a Honesdale native who holds a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Shannon chose to return to her hometown after working in several large nationally-ranked hospitals such as Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
