(HONESDALE, PA, January, 2009)— The mammography technologists at the Women’s Imaging Center at Wayne Memorial Hospital proudly show off the certificate of accreditation awarded by the American College of Radiology (ACR) to the mammography department. ACR is a national organization serving more than 32,000 diagnostic and interventional radiologists. This prestigious three-year accreditation guarantees patients that the mammograms taken here at Wayne Memorial meet the standards used throughout the United States. “This assures patients that they are getting the best images,” said Chief Mammography Technologist Lisa Ryder-Labar, RT (M), “but it is our staff who treat each patient with care and expertise that make the exam a positive experience.” This summer digital mammography was added offering a distinct advantages over traditional film-screen mammography and the use of MammoPad®, a breast cushion, can make the exam more comfortable.
