Honesdale PA, June 2, 2009—The roses are just the beginning of a rewarding life ahead for these two local students who plan to become nurses. They are this year’s recipients of $1500 Victoria T. Robinson Memorial Scholarships, a fund directed by the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Established in 1969, this scholarship fund has helped finance the education of future nurses for 40 years. Recipients are chosen from students who live in the Hospital’s service area. “This year there were nine excellent candidates from five school districts,” said Joyce Malicky, chair of the Auxiliary’s Scholarship Committee. “It was a tough decision.” Wallenpaupack Area High School senior Jaclyn Lecce (left), daughter of Jina and Michael Lecce of Paupack will be studying nursing at Moravian College. Paige Baron graduates Forest City High School and will be attending Binghamton University in the fall. Paige is the daughter of Susan and Christopher Baron of Vandling.
