Dr. Brian Lenczewski, a general surgeon at Wayne Memorial Hospital and Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers, demonstrates how he uses laparoscopic surgery instruments for gall bladder removal to students at Western Wayne High School. It was part of the annual Together for Health School Fair for 11th graders, organized by Wayne Memorial's Community Health Department. The event, which is a partnership with local school districts, also includes a live drama presentation and a clinical component, where students fill out wellness profiles and can opt to have blood tests to check for cholesterol and lipid levels. The Together for Health Program is designed to help youngsters choose healthy lifestyles by making them aware of health options. It also gives the community a picture of the health of the area's youth. A similar program is held for 7th graders in the spring.
